"Opal Butterfly" !! so we call it.

Blue Morpho Butterfly

This beauty seems just
the same as our top quality,
solid Australian...

"black opal & boulder opal" !!
(^^)

Blue Morpho Butterflies ...

Large, brilliant blue butterflies live in the forest
of South & Central America,
also in parts of North America.

** our vivid blue morpho butterfly
showing in this blog is from Peru **

The most striking aspect of the butterfly's
appearance is its iridescent blue wings!

They seem very shiny and metallic.
However, they are not actually blue.

The blue color is actually caused by the way
light reflects off of microscopic scales
on the back of the butterfly's wings.

The structure of the scales is tetrahedral
(pyramid shaped) and they reflect the light.
The color vary, depending on the angle
from which they are viewed.

Hummm .....

Doesn't it sound familiar in the opal too ?!?

For their striking looks and size,
they are one of the best-known butterflies and
favorite rainforest species in the world.

So is Australian black opal & boulder opal ..

They're most unique, vivid colored
precious opal in the world !!

By the way,
"Blue Morpho Butterfly" we are showing here
is just a single butterfly (our special collection).

Depends on the angle, you can see its
"play of color" changing colors from indigo blue,
violet and turquoise green.

Trying to match the color of opals we
have in the collection with this butterfly
was not easy but we did it !!

GORGEOUS, right !!?

If you're interested to see more of
"play of color" ....

we'll forward as much informations as possible for you .
